One of SCHA's most important priorities over the next several years will focus on whether to turn our roads over to the town; or keep them private. Both options will require significant increases in the annual fees that all owners must bear.
Over the past several years, the percentage of our annual dues being allocated for road maintenance has increase dramatically. Over the past 3 years we have made many urgent repairs, spending 35%-40% of our income fixing several of our 35 storm drains, along with crack sealing, pothole repairs, tree/root trimming and road replacement. Below is a library of pictures we have taken of some of the repair.
In spite of this, our income/budget has not been able to keep up with the list of repairs we have identified as urgent. As a result, the board has decided to raise our annual dues by $125/yr.. This funding will be added to our existing road budget, almost doubling it, dedicated to keeping our roads maintained as best we can.
