Fall Road Committee Report
The Road committee created a plan this fall identifying all projects needed in order to comply with Mashpee town requirements for plow service. Four SCHA roads were on the the "Do Not Plow" list. To comply we had to:
Cut some trees with limbs overhanging less than 12 feel over the road and remove brush 2 feet back from the road. Estimates from local tree service companies is underway.
Fix a potholes that have been identified by the town. The committee worked with the town to determine exactly what we need to do to comply.
The cost of the tree and road work required to comply was $1900. On Nov 10 we were notified that we are off the "Do Not Plow" list and meet all requirements for town plowing this winter.
Road Maintenance
We have over 30 storm drains along our 3 miles of roads. The committee is developing a plan to cleaning all the street drains periodically. It was decided we would do them on a rotating schedule (1/2 each year) which would cost $2900.00.
Some trees at the Whippoorwill Circle entrance and at the Manitoba dock have been infested with beetles. To prevent the spread of these beetles we need to cut some of them down and treat the smaller trees. The cost of cutting the trees at the Whippoorwill entrance is $1200. Work at Manitoba beach area totaled $1300.
